The BV 350 brings a fresh and totally new look to the mid range scooter category. The combination of luxurious European styling and a very high specification level equate to a most stunning, contemporary scooter. Technical specification not seen in the midrange commuter category means BV 350 not only looks stunning it also has performance and safety features to match. Active safety is a big feature in the BV 350 specification with ABS and traction control standard. A further revelation is the new 350 engine. The compact and very efficient unit combines weight of a 300 with the performance of a 400. The new BV 350 truly presents the elements of sports, touring and commuting in one totally stunning bike.
What has surprised everyone who has test ridden this so far is how they’ve managed to pack in so much for the price. The engine has the smoothness of a 250/300 but is 50% more powerful! I’ll repeat that so that you fully appreciate it. For an extra 50cc, you get 50% more power! This is thanks to a completely new engine, and for the first time, a wet clutch, providing instant take-off.
To be honest, the Beverly has totally blown us away! As through-and-through Vespa fans, it is a bit of a shock when a scooter comes along that makes one reassess one’s riding preferences!
The Beverly is very, very hard to fault in any department. Big wheeled scooters have traditionally been compromised by poor storage, and often small fuel tanks (a result of fitting the big rear wheel and the engine in a finite space) and yet the BV has masses of storage and a large fuel tank (relocated under the floor!). Also big engined scooters often feel “lumpy” at low speeds – a feature of large, single cylinder engines – yet the new 350 engine in the BV is smooth at low speeds, and extremely responsive right through the range (and we haven’t even tried to work out the top speed yet!)
